Alexandra Jarige is a French-born Portrait and Fine Arts photographer, who also specializes in traditional and documentary-style event photography.
In 2006, she returned to the Boston area from Paris, France where she studied at the SPEOS Paris Photographic Institute, under Georges Fèvre, master black and white printer for Cartier-Bresson, Doisneau and Koudelka, among others.
While at SPEOS, she enrolled in a fashion photography workshop with guest instructor and renowned fashion photographer, Paolo Roversi.
Having grown up in both France and the United States, Alexandra has always been drawn to exploring new landscapes, people and their customs. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and North Africa. Her sensitivity to people and places enables her to feel at home just about anywhere and with anyone, a quality reflected in the depth of her photographs.
Influenced by her love of painting, color and texture, she uses her camera to “paint with light” creating a context and mood in which to tell the story of her subject.
Most recently, her work has been shown at the Thacher Island Art & Photo Show and the Harvard Black Arts Festival.
Alexandra currently divides her working time between weddings and freelance projects including location portraits, headshots, catalog work and event photography in the Greater Boston area.
